Davenport, Iowa (Oct. 4, 2007) -- The WORLD Dirt Racing League brings the PolyDome Late Model Series here to the Davenport Speedway this Friday and Saturday (Oct. 5 and 6) for a double-header season finale.

Five drivers are still in the hunt for the 2007 WDRL title. Justin Fegers of
Mound, Minn., has earned 3,245 points so far this year and enters this
weekend's action with the points lead. Fegers has ripped off six straight
top-10 WDRL finishes to push him into the top spot.

John Kaanta of Elk Mound, Wis., is second with 3,171 points -- just 74
points behind Fegers -- putting Kaanta in the hunt for the PolyDome Late Model Series points championship. Kaanta is leading the WORLD Dirt Racing League Rookie of the Year competition.

Eric Pember of Pittsville, Minn., sits in third place with 3,166 points.
Pember, who is coming off a solid third-place finish this past weekend at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kans., has a mathematical chance for the title.

Dave Eckrich of Cosgrove, Iowa, is fourth in the standings with 3,153
points. Eckrich is still mathematically in the hunt for the PolyDome Late Model Series points title. Sitting only 13 points behind Pember, Eckrich could very easily climb a few more spots in the final rundown.

Brian Harris of Davenport, Iowa, who has led the WDRL point standings most of the season, currently sits fifth with 3,075 points. Harris, who was injured in an accident at West Liberty (Iowa) Raceway on Sept. 22 and is recovering, is not expected to race this weekend.

The hearts of WORLD Dirt Racing League's officials and all its racing teams go out to Brian Harris and his crew and family. We are very thankful that it looks like he is going to make a full recovery.

Pit gates open at 2 p.m. Friday at Davenport Speedway. Front gates open at 5 with hot laps set for 6. On Saturday the pit gates open at 2 p.m. with front gates open at 4 and hot laps slated for 5:30 p.m. The track is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, 2815 W. Locust St.
