BRP Big 8 Series Releases
2009 Schedule
Rockford, IL- The BRP Big 8 Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet
has released the 2009 schedule for the popular Midwest based group
which highlights the best weekly drivers from tracks across Wisconsin
and Illinois. Rockford Speedway will host the opening event with the
running of the 32nd annual Spring Classic featuring a 108 lap feature
event for the Big 8 Series contingent.
"We are pleased with how the schedule is developing, all of
these events are turning into annual stops for us, sometimes we headline
the event, other times we join the ASA Midwest Tour, but I know our
style of racing is sure to bring out the best that short track racing
has to offer." Commented Series Director Gregg McKarns. "Our
hope is to announce one if not two additional dates in the near future."
As the BRP Big 8 Series presented by Gandrud Chevrolet enters its
fifth year of competition, many feel Jeremy Miller has a strong chance
of claiming his third championship in a row, even though he secured
his second straight title over Michael Bilderback by a mere point
at the conclusion of 2008. Other challengers joining Bilderback in
the quest to knock Miller off the top spot include Mid-American Stock
Car Series Champion James Swan, Madison International Champion Bobby
Wilberg, Jefferson runner-up Steve Dobbratz, Rockford top shoe Ryan
Carlson and 2008 Rookie of the Year Ross Kenseth.
