Marshalltown Speedway
sanction with IMCA through 2015
MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Another of IMCA’s premier tracks
has signed a five-year sanctioning contract.
IMCA Modifieds, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and Karl Chevrolet Northern
SportMods will head line Friday night programs at Marshalltown
Speedway through 2015.
“We want people to see where our commitment is to racers
and the sanctioning body,” said promoter Toby Kruse. “This
long-term contract should leave no doubt in anyone’s mind.”
“There is a solid base of IMCA drivers and race fans here,”
he added. “When you look at the number of national, regional
and Super Nationals champions that have come from Marshalltown,
it’s fair to say that the level of competition here rivals
any other track in the country.”
Marshalltown is IMCA’s longest continuously sanctioned track
for both Modifieds, since 1982, and Stock Cars, since 1984.
Hobby Stocks rejoined weekly shows there in 1997. Northern SportMods
were new in 2006.
“Race cars are much like boats. You don’t buy one
if you don’t have a reasonable expectation of where and
when to enjoy it,” reasoned IMCA Vice President of Operations
Brett Root. “With a contract like this in place, IMCA racers
will have a very reasonable expectation of what to expect on race
night at Marshalltown each of the next five years. This puts all
the rumors and nonsense to rest.”
All four IMCA divisions see their first action of the season at
the April 1 Frostbuster.
Local track points will be given starting April 8 through Sept.
2. The curtain comes down with the Sept. 23-24 Havoc On The High
Banks special.
