Moving Forward With Race Season
There will be racing at Independence Motor Speedway (IMS) this
season in spite of the recent damage inflicted upon the main grandstand
facility during a wind storm last week. This according to Buchanan
County Fair Board member, Brian Prusator and Brian Lille of Three
Wide Promotions, the promoter at IMS.
“We have been working with the county supervisors and Three
Wide Promotions to come up with a game plan for moving forward
with this year’s race season,” Said Prusator. “We’re
in contact with all of the right people, everyone is working well
together and our plan right now is to open the season towards
the middle to latter half of May,” he concluded.
‘Lillie, for his part, is anxious to get going and excited
about carrying on the long-standing tradition of racing at the
Buchanan County Fairgrounds. “We can’t wait to get
going and we aren’t going to let Mother Nature spoil our
plans,” said Lillie. “There has been racing at Independence
for over thirty years and there will be racing at Independence
this year as well. We realize how much it means to our fans and
competitors to be able to attend races at this facility and we
are determined to provide them that same opportunity as soon as
possible this year.”
The season opener race is now on the schedule for May 17th!
