POINT BATTLES AND TEMPERATURES
HEATING UP HEADING INTO THIS WEEK
( Cedar Rapids, IA 05/23/06)-One thing is clear after the third week
of
competition at Hawkeye Downs Speedway. No one driver in any division
is a clear
favorite to win their respective division in any of the six classes
doing
battle at the historic fairgrounds racing facility.
Only one division, the Barron Motor Supply Hobby Stocks, has recorded
a
repeat winner. Tim Dains won the first two features of the season
and then
finished second to Terry Shaffar on Friday night, May 19.
This Friday night all six divisions of the Papa Johns Cup/ I-Wireless
Championships and the Full Throttle Energy Drink Stars of Tomorrow
will be in
action once again. The evening of racing is presented by All Seasons
Equipment.
Looking at the point battles, Scott Wennermark holds a slim two-point
lead over Jeff King and Kyle Hinrichs in the Performance Concepts
Late Models.

performances into the points lead. Duggan holds a two-point margin
