Spooktacular Provides Racing, Fun, and $$$

When the green flag waves at the 4th Annual Fall Spooktacular, it may be the last chance for area racers and fans to get their stock car racing experience before the 2007 season ends.

The Spooktacular was designed by promoter Brad Roelandt as an event for weekly racers. The event uses mostly weekly racetrack rules and gives racers one more opportunity to compete before putting their cars away for the year.

Drivers in the featured classes, 4 Cylinder Stocks, A-Modifieds and B-Mods, will be racing for a larger purse than in their weekly shows. The 4-Cylinder Stock class will run a $1,000-to-win feature. Also racing will be Street Stocks, Hobby Stocks, and Mod Lites.

The event will be held Saturday, September 29th, at the Davenport Speedway, located on the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. The Spooktacular is presented by the Quad Cities Racing Connection and Quad City Salvage Auction.

The pit area will open at 12:00 Noon, with the racing action scheduled to start at 3:30pm. Pit passes are $25 and grandstand admission only $10. Drivers in the featured classes will also pay a $25 entry fee.

Over the last three years, racers from seven different states have taken part in the Spooktaculars, with the high car count coming in 2005, at 202 entries. The high car counts have helped make the Spooktacular one of the biggest single-day racing events in the Midwest.
