Linnea Hite: Urbana, IA

Linnea Hite, was born in Rockford, IL. on October 29, 1968. Linnea graduated from Lisbon High School and then went on to attend Kirkwood Community College studying in Applied Science in Health Information Management. She is a 5' 5" tall, with auburn hair and light blue eye. Linnea says " her Mom has been her biggest influence in life and misses her very much. As a young girl Linnea did anything she could do to make money, babysitting, working on farms, mowing lawns, shoveling snow, etc, and now she is a Transcription Supervisor in Medical Records at Mercy Hospital. When not doing her favorite thing racing, she finds time to enjoy rollerblading, fishing, camping, cross stitch, drawing, and listening to Metallica and Garth Brooks. Linnea enjoys spicy chicken wings, crab legs, and chocolate chip mint ice cream. Linnea started racing Women on Wheels at Hawkeye Downs in 1994, she spun out on the backstretch but didn't give up and kept charging. In 1999 she had her really only big crash, first race of the year she got taken out early. Linnea has been very successful, with a 3rd place finish in 1996 and Championships in Women on Wheels in 1997 and 1999. You can see Linnea race at Hawkeye Downs, #85, Women on Wheels.

Linnea Racing
A picture of the team Linnea owns the car and is helped by a loyal and hard working crew consisting of her husband Doug Hite, Mark and Shawna Sailor, Lisa and Scott Kane, Mark and Becky Winestorfer, and Wayne Thompson. Without them, and others it would be tough putting the car on the track each week. Thanks Team!

Best Part of Racing: When racers help each other and get along, nothing like asking for a carburetor over the intercom and having 4 brought to your pits by other racers.
Worst Part of Racing: Things not in your control and when racers don't get along like we should. We're all in this together.
Five years from now: Still racing but in another class, hopefully a faster class.
If I wasn't racing, I'd be doing: Wishing I was!!! Probably camping and fishing.
My favorite Nascar driver: Jeff Gordon

What would I like to say to my fans: Thank you all so much. Without you we would have no reason to race, especially on Saturday nights. Coming out to see us race means so much words cannot express how much. Hope I always give you a good reason to cheer me on and continue to be a fan of mine.

To Amberlyn: HELLO SUNSHINE!

Thank you to all the fans for coming out and supporting us, to Coke and others for sponsoring our Saturday Night program, and the press for the excellent coverage you give the track and the racers.
